Cook mixed on new scoring system
This year, college volleyball games will go to 25 instead of 30.
“I’m still mixed on it,” Cook said. “There is a lot of pressure right now to go back to 30. Whether or not that happens, I don’t know. We’re preparing for 25, but I like it in the way I think it rewards the programs and the coaches that can prepare the best because now it’s a shorter time fame so your preparation is even more important.
“We have always prided ourselves on being really well prepared to play for our opponent and what’s going to happen. The sooner you get out the gate the better. We went from a mile run to a 400 sprint.”
There also will be a change in calling ball handling errors on the second touch as well.
“They’re going to try and take the referees making those calls right at 24-24,” Cook said. “I’m not anticipating that it’s going to be that big a change. I think they’re just going to be a little more liberal on that.
“Again it will help promote longer rallies because the referees won’t be stopping play. I think that’s probably positive as well.”

Glenn to linebacker?
Where ever Glenn plays, you have to wish him luck. He appeared to be on his way to an outstanding career as a freshman, but injuries slowed his progress. Last year Glenn saw little playing time, even though he now says he was healthy and ready to go.
