Cook controls himself

Nebraska coach John Cook has learned a few things over the years. The Huskers don't yet know if they will host first- and second-round NCAA Tournament matches or if they will have to go on the road. When asked if he thought it was fair that his 26-2 team might have to go on the road, Cook said, "I figured out it really doesn’t matter what I think. I just tick people off when I say what I feel.”

Cook did go on to say that he thought only places that have good attendance should get to host NCAA Tournament matches.

“I see some of these places that host and there’s nobody there,” Cook said. “Why are they hosting? They shouldn’t be rewarded with that.”

That's why the Huskers likely will get to host first- and second-round matches because the NCAA knows the NU Coliseum will sell out. On the other hand, Cook has been hearing things about money, travel and air flights. Cook is going to try and not worry about it. We'll know Sunday night where the Huskers are headed.

“They have things they have to deal with when they set this tournament up, so there’s no sense worrying about it,” Cook said.
